The idea of playing a private server is to be able to accomplish ( with relative ease) the things that you would not be able to accomplish on an official server, for whatever reason. This brings me to why this is my first post. Now, I am here because 9Dragons appeals to me, but the official server does not align with how I want to spend my time, in game, nor how I wish to support the game ( I don't gamble, I work hard for my money, and I like value for money). Some research found three primary factors that influence the creation and use of private servers and a recurring primary finding was "Nostalgia." However, "Fun" can be used as an arbitrary replacement for the word Nostalgia. We all know about the legal status of private servers - non essential, at this point- but of importance is why they exist. Which brings me to why I am here and why this is my first post. They promised a lot of things but I find that the game was still as grindy as it was back in GC's era, and the grinding and "gambling," with luck, were the TWO main things that I disliked about how 9Dragons was implemented. ![]() ![]() I found one such game, and played it for about two years until I heard of RFG's acquisition of the publishing rights, to 9Dragons. I hunted for another game to play something that would give me the same "feeling" that 9Dragons did. N.B -Scroll to the end for a one-sentence summary.
